Matchbox Day Nursery first opened in September 2003 as a charity in partnership with the local council to provide childcare for parents of the local area. The nursery provides childcare for up to 98 children each day between the ages for 3 months to 5 years old supervised by a team of fully qualified staff from level 3 up to early years teachers.
Our team also overlook the running of the Burdett Playgroup that offers sessional childcare to children claiming the government funding hours between the ages of 2 years to 5 years.
From September 2023 we have opened a new setting for full daycare called Matchbox Nursery located in Aberfeldy square. This setting will provide childcare for up to 48 children between the ages of 3 months to 5 years.
Our childcare settings are best described as a free play & messy play where all children are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities each day alongside their peers. We welcome all children in to the nursery from all backgrounds and ethnicity’s to be a part of the nursery family.
