Hours: 30 hours per week, working between 8am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday

St Albans is a very busy and vibrant community centre providing a wide range of services to the local community.  St Albans has a fantastic pre-school provision called Junipers Pre-school, catering for up to 80 children per day for children aged 2 – 4 years of age.  We require a competent person to perform the role of pre-school assistant, alongside a skilled and passionate team to support us in meeting the demand of childcare places in our local environment.  This is a very busy and energetic environment providing inclusive pre-school care and education for all children and families.

Job Requirements

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Pre-school practitioner who:

• Must be passionate about working with children.

• Must be willing to undertake a DBS and register on the update service.
• Hold a GCSE in both English and Maths.
• Must hold appropriate and relevant level 3 childcare qualification.
• Must have a willingness and a passionate desire to learn new things.
• Should have excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines.
• Must have excellent Communication skills.
• Must have the ability to provide a warm and stimulating environment to support children’s learning.
• Should be able to demonstrate good interpersonal communication and written skills.
• Must be able to use own initiative, be caring, adaptable and have a good sense of humour.
• Must be reliable and punctual and want to pursue a career in childcare.
• Must be able to work closely and effectively within a team.
• Must be able to take accountability for own learning, practice, and professional development.
