We are a small nursery located in Bruntsfield close to the centre of Edinburgh serviced by many bus routes.

We currently have vacancies across our two rooms: 0-2.5 years and 2.5-5 years for both qualified and unqualified members of staff as well as a Room Leader position within our 0-2.5 room.

After consulting with our children, we are looking for staff who ‘are so funny’, ‘talk about aeroplanes’, ‘make cakes and cookies’ and ‘don’t talk about Bruno’.

Starting salaries for each role are as follows:

Nursery Assistant – £20,748.00

Nursery Practitioner – £22,214.40

Nursery Room Leader – £23,805.60

This is a full-time position of 40 hours, working from 7:15am until 6:15pm four days a week with a floating day off.

Your role as Early Years Practitioner will include:

• Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
• Observe, support and extend children’s learning.
• Plan appropriately for children using the curriculum of excellence/ pre-birth to three.
• Good knowledge and understanding ‘Realising the ambition – being me’ and ‘Girfec’
• Maintain accurate and effective children’s records.
• Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
• Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.
• Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary follow, Safeguarding Procedures.
• Be a Key Person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Work as a team with other staff members.

Essential Skills & experience:

• SVQ Level 3 or HNC in childhood practice or a qualification recognised for a practitioner with the SSSC.
• Experience of working within an Early years setting
• Experience of working with children 0-5’s years
